RE Review for December 2009

RE December Schedule
All children are invited to participate in our annual Family Holiday Service on December 20 called Under One Star. The children’s performance will include singing and wearing costumes! They will  rehearse during RE time on November 29, December 6 and 13. There will be no regular classes for

Pre-K through 5th grade during these Sundays. Nursery, Middle School and High School will continue to meet. Adults are needed who can help with costumes and/or rehearsals. Contact Sherry Reynolds, Director or Pam Gerke, Music Director.

There will be no RE classes and no scheduled Nursery Caregivers on Sunday, December 27. Parents are welcome to use the Nursery on their own.

Trick-Or-Treat for Neighbors in Need
The children collected $250 at our annual fundraiser on November 1. That’s enough to buy 25 of the $10 Safeway cards for groceries or gas to folks who need it! Thanks to all the kids for their great job, and thanks to all the adults who contributed. A special thank you goes to Jackie Wika for her help.

Our Whole Lives (OWL)
OWL will be offered during the Winter Trimester (January through mid-March) for Kindergarten and First Grade and for High School. This is a fantastic, ageappropriate sexuality educational program, unlike anything your children will get in school.

For the K-1 class, parents need to pre-register their children and parents and students are required to attend the Orientation on January 4 from 12:15- 1:30pm. Childcare will also be available for your other children if needed. Please bring a lunch for your kids.

Once the K-1 OWL class begins it will be closed to visitors or new students. (If parents choose to not register their children in OWL or are visiting during that time, their children or youth will be welcome to join the class of another age group or stay in the sanctuary with their parents during RE time.)

The High School OWL class will not require preregistration and the class will remain open to new members. OWL classes are open to our Snohomish County community - consider inviting your child’s friends to join. For more information, contact Pam Gerke.

Children’s Playgroups
Children’s Playgroups are now forming at Evergreen. These are opportunities during the week for children to play indoors with parent supervision. More information will soon be emailed to parents. For more information, contact Skeet Couper or Pam Gerke.

Mothers Tea Party
Another Mothers Tea Party will be scheduled in January. Mothers of children of any age are invited to join our conversation about being mothers, while childcare is provided. Contact Pam Gerke for  more information.

RE Winter Trimester
The winter trimester for the RE Program will be January 3 through March 14.
