Please join us in this study group, designed to explore experiences of Christian scripture, ritual, meditation, and prayer. Then join us at our regular service at 10:30am.

This is a five-session workshop, in which participants are asked to work toward an articulation of what they believe and what is most meaningful in their lives. It is essential that you commit to the whole series, and if you cannot, please wait until it is offered again. He is the author of Healing Self, Healing Earth: Awakening Presence, Power, and Passion.
The New Normal

What is the New Normal, and how (and why) do I adjust to it? Financial uncertainty. Unpredictable weather variations. Unemployment. Friends and family not being able to make ends meet. Wanting to get back to the way it used to be - back to normal. In this workshop, we will take a compassionate look at how we currently handle these difficulties. We will look at how it is possible to weather the storms, be flexible and adaptive. You will learn to identify, develop and utilize your resources and build resilience within yourself and your family.
Meditation with Photos / Women’s Gathering

Experience conceptual and perceptual seeing of photos through meditation and concentration. This is an opportunity for women of Evergreen to come together in community and all women are welcome.
Bring an unframed photo no larger than 5" x 7" for the meditation. It does not have to be a photo you have taken and can be a picture from a magazine. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a lunch. Paper will be provided. Directions will be emailed when you pre-register.

This introductory workshop will provide insight into the effects of chronic pain on the body and mind, offer information for healing pain, and show how personal belief and perception can influence and manipulate the physical body and alter mental processes. We will look at pain in the context of our physical, social, historical, and perceptual ideologies. John Yeoman is a Chronic Pain Group Facilitator and Counselor who works with the YWCA, the American Chronic Pain Association and Lake City Veterans Affairs.

You can learn to play congas, djembes, ashikos and other hand drums in a friendly, supportive setting. You'll also learn hand and stick drumming techniques, coordination, and timekeeping skills as well as recognizing and playing a variety of rhythmic patterns and signals, which we will combine to create multi-part ensemble rhythms. It's fun! Beginners welcome! Instruments provided.

Introduction to Sourdough Baking

Learn how to bake superior leavened bread without buying yeast! This is a one-session beginner's class on baking with sourdough. Topics will include: the differences between authentic sourdough and other bread, maintaining a sourdough starter and baking your first sourdough loaf. Participants will receive their own starter and recipes for sourdough bread, pancakes and waffles. Please pre-register and indicate whether you have bread baking experience.

This class focuses on writing a personal essay and/or short fiction based on a personal experience. There will be a series of short exercises culminating in the writing of a complete work.
