Music Program at Evergreen
~ Paul Henderson, Music Team Leader
Music is a pathway to nourish our souls and plays an integral part in our lives. This is evident in the Evergreen experience. Vocal and instrumental music is woven into the themes of each Sunday service as well as other activities. Our music programs include the Common Ground (an all ages music group), Pine Cone Children's Choir, and Rhythms of the Forest (our drumming and percussion group). Additionally we have small vocal and instrumental ensembles. The music for the services and other events is diverse, drawing from a variety of traditions and genres. Our music program is inclusive and is open to all ages and levels of music experience. We encourage all to participate.
Common Ground: Evergreen’s choir and instrumental group meets on Thursday nights from 7:00–8:30 pm. Bring your singing voice and instruments! Contact Paul Henderson at music@evergreenuu.org.

Pine Cone Choir
This special choir is for our younger members age 5 and older who want to sing. It has resumed rehearsals from 11:50am - 12:20pm most Sundays in the sanctuary. Please contact Pam Gerke in advance if your child will be joining.

Drumming: You can learn to play congas, djembes, ashikos and other hand drums in a friendly, supportive setting. Geoff Johns offers classes on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm if enough people sign up. It's fun! Beginners are welcome, and instruments can be provided. Contact Geoff Johns to find out when the next class will begin, or for more information.
Accompaniment
Evergreen has many accomplished pianists, Ruth Mallery, John Burkhardt and Gayle Sells, who accompany services. Ruth also accompanies the Intergeneral Music program. In addition to piano accompaniment, we have a beautiful pipe organ and harpsichord that enhance our services on an occasional basis.
