And yet, if we write a book about all the whys and wherefores of our involvement at Evergreen, it will quickly become shelf art, of no use to anyone.
The trick is to say something briefly, revealing at least part of our “why” story. If we feel the truth of what we say, as we say it, our listener will be engaged. They may even take further steps to find out more. The congregational survey that our Committee on Ministry is working on will help us to know which “whys” are most important to us here at Evergreen...

Seabeck Scholarship Fund Bake Sale
February 12th
Each year Evergreen joins with the Shoreline UU for a weekend of education, relaxation, and play at the Seabeck Conference Center. This year’s Seabeck retreat will be April 27-29 and our theme is Spirituality and Arts. The Seabeck Retreat is full of enriching activities, however there is a fee for meals and lodging. Some families or individuals may have a great interest in attending, but are faced with some financial barriers. We would like to remove those barriers with the Seabeck Scholarship Fund. If you would like more information or interested in donating contact Ramonda Sosa.
Women’s Weekend Retreat: “Reclaiming and Reinventing Ourselves”

Fort Worden, Port Townsend
$145* / person (*Some financial aid is available and contributions to financial aid are appreciated.)
We are always in transition, whether it be starting or ending a relationship, leaving or beginning a job, having kids at home or gone, or any of the changes we continually experience. How do we reinvent ourselves at every turn of life’s path? What does it mean to reclaim and identify ourselves not in relation to our roles with others but solely in our own images? Our retreat is always a time for connecting together, taking a respite for our busy lives, being pampered by our wonderful chefs, and having fun! All women are welcome. Limit: 21 women. Contact: Sandra Lortz.

Annual Seabeck Retreat
April 27-29, 2012 at Seabeck Conference Center in Seabeck WA
Please mark your calendars!
This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other people in our congregations on a deeper level.
Our program this year, Spirituality and the Arts, will focus on some of the many ways to participate in the arts as spiritual enhancement and expression. We are asking members of our congregations to lead hands-on experiences with the arts and spirituality. These could include everything from worship planning to music to dance to writing, etc. All ages are encouraged to participate. We’ll also have programs for children ages 3-12 and youth.
Shoreline UU Church and Evergreen UU Fellowship join together for fellowship each spring at the Seabeck Retreat. Watch for the registration form in the January 2012 newsletters and on our Retreats link.
