Frequently Asked Questions

What time does Service begin?
Services begin at 10:30am on Sundays. Services are approximately 1 hour and are followed by a coffee and social time open to everyone.  See Sunday Services.

What do I wear?
This is a casual and comfortable congregation. Attire should be respectful of all who attend.

What time are children's classes?
Children begin their Sunday time with their family in the Sanctuary. A Story for All Ages occurs early in the service after which they recess to age appropriate classes in other parts of the building. One Sunday a month the children have their own worship service to start their day. See Children's Classes.

May I go to class with my children or keep them with me?
Whichever is most comfortable for you and your child will work. If you would like to have a sense of what is happening in the classroom, or your child feels more at ease with you present, feel free to go to the class. You will be assured that your child is safe, comfortable and in good care with attentive teachers. You may then stay for an entire session or return to the service. If you and your child would like to stay together in the service, that arrangement can also be more comfortable at first. If you have a young child, be sure to get a packet of coloring materials from the Greeters.

Will I be expected to speak up as a newcomer?
No, we do not request that you introduce yourself to the congregation. However, it is appreciated if you stop at the Greeter Table on your way into the Sanctuary, or visit the Information Table during coffee time. It is an opportunity for us to know you a bit better, answer any questions you may have, and receive contact information so that you will receive our newsletter.

Will I be expected to sign up for duties?
No. Attendance does not require assistance or committee work or other participation. Once people attend several or as many times as they feel comfortable, they are welcome to sit in on meetings to get a sense of how things work. There are also many and various fun activities here as well to which all are welcome. If assisting with the planning and implementation of these meets your interests, you would be welcome to join in. Small steps and many hands in work are easy ways to get to know folks better.

How do I talk with the minister?
Please feel free to speak with Rev. Bruce Davis, our Minister, when you are here on a Sunday. At that time you may set up future meetings at your discretion. Also, you may email Bruce or call 360-659-6621 to set an appointment.

Who can I talk to if I have questions?
We are a congregation of many interesting people! Join us during coffee time after the service and introduce yourself. Or visit the Information Table. You may also email the Office or call to speak with Susan Wakeman, Administrator, to chat, ask questions, or find out about how things work. Also, please feel free to email Rev. Bruce Davis or email the President of the Board of Trustees.
