What Do Unitarian Universalists Believe?
There are no requirements of belief for membership as a Unitarian Universalist. Our second principle speaks of our acceptance of each other and our encouragement of each other to grow spiritually. This spiritual growth of each unique member is guided by our fourth principle, the free and responsible search for truth and meaning. When someone new comes into our community, they are not told what to think but are rather invited to learn and grow based on their own perceived needs.
What Is a Welcoming Congregation
At Evergreen UU Fellowship we actively welcome GLBT persons. In 1994, we went on record in our formal documents to welcome and support GLBT persons as members or friends of our congregation, concluding a process of the Unitarian Universalist Association called “Welcoming Congregations.” In June of 2008, we have renewed our committment. We have an active committee called Where Everyone Belongs (WEB) advocating for GLBT issues and creating supports for these valuable participants in our church family.
