Religious Exploration for Children & Youth
Religious Exploration Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide a welcoming place of acceptance and service that encourages connection to the personal spiritual journey, to each other, to the Evergreen community, and to the world.
The kinds of classes we offer reflect our mission statement-- the All Fellowship Services, this year with a theme of celebrating seasonal changes, invite participation at each child's level of comfort, and allow for connection to the entire Fellowship. Together @ the Table potluck brunches provide a safe place for the children to engage in fellowship with each other. Our service projects range from local (like planting trees) to global (like raising money for water wells to be drilled in Africa.)
The Pinecones (3 months through 1st grade) and Sprouts and Saplings (2nd through 6th grades) classes offer lessons that are age-appropriate and engaging with children being offered choices in how to best absorb the material presented based on their learning preferences. The older class (Youth, grades 7 - 12) dives deeper into topics and creates a space for a foundation of friendships that nurtures personal growth.
Middle School and High School Youth have the opportunity to go to cons and dive deeper with their peers into UU and their own beliefs. All families can participate in engaging with the community at festivals and parades. There is an annual family-friendly retreat for UU families in Seabeck the first weekend of May.
The Guest Registration form is for newcomer families so that we have some basic information about the children and their needs, feel free to fill it out before attending. The Registration form for the program year includes additional permissions (like photo and grounds), and ALL information you provide is kept private within the Fellowship. Children and Youth can join in the program and be registered at any time during the year. Please review the Evergreen Safety Policies and Procedures. We're looking forward to having your child(ren) with us this year!
