Social Justice Ministries

Current Programs

Split the Plate

We donate half of the Sunday morning offering to a local organization serving Snohomish county and other communities.

Sunday of Service

A couple times a year, we invite guest speakers from partner organizations into our Sunday morning experience, putting our faith into action through live donation drives and all ages participation.

Mission

To facilitate putting our Unitarian Universalist values and covenants into action through transformative social justice serving Evergreen and the larger community.

Goals

In our service, we aim to:

  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive community grounded in compassion, respect, and liberation

  • Challenge injustice and dismantle oppression by advocating for social change

  • Facilitate awareness and actions throughout our members’ lifespans

Associated Organizations

JUUstice Washington

JUUstice Washington (or JUUstWA for short) is a network of Unitarian Universalist congregations and organizations and their allies and partners, working on creating the necessary changes to address the many challenges brought on by social and environmental injustice.

Unitarian Universalist Service Committee

The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, UUSC, is the fundraising and social action management arm of the denomination. They work for long-term solutions to human rights and social justice issues through partnerships with grassroots, community based organizations in a wide variety of locations worldwide.

In the Fall of 2012, our Fellowship received the James Luther Adams Award for our support of UUSC’s mission to advance human rights and social justice around the world.

Side With Love

Side With Love is the Organizing Strategy Team of the Unitarian Universalist Association. They harness the power of love to confront and transform systems of oppression and build a world where all people can thrive. Through organizing, education, and mobilization, they equip Unitarian Universalists and aligned communities to take spiritually grounded, justice-oriented action.

UU Ministry for Earth

Unitarian Universalist Ministry for Earth is a seedbed for spiritual grounding and education that inspires deep practices of Earth care, justice and flourishing for all.

UU the Vote

UU the Vote is a bold initiative created by the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Side With Love team, providing UUs a thoughtfully crafted “plug-and-play” opportunity to bring our democratic values to life in the crucial struggle to build a genuine multiracial democracy. UU the Vote engages people in voter registration, issue education, get-out-the-vote drives, voter protection, state leadership development, and more.
